A teaching resource (lesson plan / learning flow) designed to help children observe and consider the effects of carbon dioxide on temperature.
Pupils will learn about the greenhouse effect/ global warming and how scientists consider that the increase in carbon dioxide and other gases contributes to the increase in global temperatures.
They will then complete an 'observing over time investigation' to show the effects of carbon dioxide on temperature.

This resource introduces students to the sea turtles of Costa Rica and the importance of their habitat, assesses the dangers that they face and encourages students to consider how they can help. We are also pleased to include an interview with Heike Russell, who works for the Pacuare Leatherback Turtle Reserve in Costa Rica.

Karen Norton and her students ran an amazing project with her Eco Club that not only raised awareness and understanding of the issues associated with single-use plastic, it also helped ease student's transition from Primary to Secondary.
Karen has kindly written up the project as a case study so that other schools can learn from their experiences and possibly run their own Kids Against Plastic transition initiative. Use this link or the Download button to to view the case study write up.
There is also a ready-made Powerpoint file (as shown in the image above) that students can use as a guide for their own presentations.
