Scottish Parliament bans plastic drinking straws

The Scottish Parliament has stopped using plastic drinking straws in its own cafes, bar and canteen and will now provide paper alternatives instead. Up until the end of 2017 Holyrood used around 4,000 plastic straws annually. The decision to switch was made by the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body.
