Pebble theft creates ripples in Cornwall

The story of a holidaymaker, told to return stolen pebbles to Crackington Haven beach to avoid a fine, has emerged amongst complaints of heavy-handed signage threatening prosecution at the Cornish beach. The practice is actually illegal under the Coastal Protection Act 1949 and highlights our message to “take only memories, leave only footprints.”
